Help Re-build Conley Herps

$3,848 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 40 people in 27 months
As many of you already know, Conley Herps suffered serious loss and damage last night due to a fire at our facility. All humans are fine, but many snakes were killed or injured as a result of the fire. We want to reassure our customers that the rodent business will continue and does not appear to have suffered heavy losses. We want to thank Hampton Fire Department for their efforts last night - without their help this could have been a total loss. We are cleaning up and will update as we can on Facebook.

Fire Update: Conley Herps has made arrangements to move our animals to three separate locations so that we can begin to rebuild. This will help us treat the injured animals you see in the photo below as well as continue to keep our rodent business operating. We are incredibly thankful to those who have offered animals, but what we really need right now is time to help our existing collection recover. Bringing new animals in right now could jeopardize that recovery since burn victims have compromised immune systems. With the help of Warwick Animal Hospital, we are treating the animals with the best medications under the direction of Dr. Paul Gustafson.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the support of our family, friends, and colleagues in the reptile community both local and from afar. Donations of newspapers are still welcome, and locals can call or text Becca with other inquiries. Those wishing to donate funds can do so through the GoFundMe page set up for our benefit. Words cannot express how thankful we are to have your support. We love you all.

A message from Conley Herps:
Super pastels and super pastel sugars just out of the egg. Can't wait to see them when they shed!!

Thank you for all the well wishes and support, and please continue to share our story. We'll post an update on the fire soon.

Fire Update:

Saturday was a productive day of re-housing snakes and assessing damage. We had a near total loss of caging in our breeder room. The rat room has power again, which means they have a/c and are much happier.

The endless stream of donations and willing volunteers has kept us from sinking into utter despair. I'm going to try to knowledge as many people as I can in this post. I want to sit here and type out how each and every person on this list has helped since the fire, but I should probably sleep at some point - that is how much has been done for us. Facebook won't let me tag all these folks, but I want to acknowledge as many as I can. If I miss someone, PLEASE comment with their names below.

Chris Blake & Britt Blake & William Marakos & Bella Marakos & Lew Zonnie LeCompte & Ann LeCompte Marakos & Sarah Mokriski Barry & Christina Popernack Kerby & Katherine Kerby & Robert Kerby & Felicia Davis & Joan & Eve Patterson & Anna Patterson & Zig & Emily Carrier & Mary Burcham Bunting & Mark Bunting & Rob Robert Strickland & Aaron Duane & Joshua Severts & Debi Edwards & Sabrina Winn Burbanck & Ginny Hagin & Randy Hagin & Shannon Forsyth & Lindsey Brooks & Melissa & Ryan Karle & Alisa Castro & Kelly Champion & Heather Marie DG & Jamey Goode & Jake Jacob Sarah Savage & Melody Mohr Black & & Nancy Gray Scott & Bonnie Herncall & Michele Lawrence Ferrel & Brian Hobson & Miles Ferguson & Brittany Johnston & Marian Currier & Brian Currier & & Savannah Currier & Lysbeth Roos Geith & Andy Geith & Tracie Fulgham Heroux & Steve Heroux & Jenn MacLeod & Donna Beard & Penny Wiggley & Steve Tire Iron Emmons & Stacy Watts & Maria Angela Marandola & Amanda Cavanaugh & MJ Mary Jo Bellinger & Tricia Waltrip & Sue Muller & Amy Schmidt & Jon Van Laarhoven & Cori Olivia Reaume & Maria Angela Marandola & Natasha Willis & Bowen LaJesse & Sarah Creasy & Michael Pruckner & Serpentine Obsessions & Precision Pythons (then I fell asleep before hitting post, haha)

There are no missing animals, but thank you. We are not relying on Go Fund Me, we have insurance. This was set up out of the kindness shown us by family and friends. (GoFundMe actually only takes a small percentage.) Thank you for the concern and the support, though. It means so much to us that so many people are there to support us.

Sorry to hear about this, Anthony. It's so sad to hear. Did the fire department find the cause of the fire? I wish you the absolute best man. Stay strong!

I'm so sad for the loss of your beautiful creatures.reptile and small mammals.however.I hope you had insurance to cover your loss.please don't rely on gofundme. They take almost 1/3 of your funds.if you still need help if like to volunteer to search the area for your missing reptiles. I was the "snake lady"at the va living museum for a few years.

There has been nothing but kindness shown to me by this community since I've become a part of it. I only wish I could help more. Please thank Paul Spurlock, I found out about this because of his post.
