28974564_15232273210_r.jpegThank you for all of your prayers. We have had a tremendous outpouring of love for our youth. It has been amazing to see how many people have offered to help from our local little community to loads of FB friends and family.
Most of you know the story but here's a little recap...
On Saturday our senior class landed in Texas to go on their senior trip. This wasn't just a regular ole senior trip to go to have fun in the sun. This was a senior trip that was mission based. Our children voted and choose to go witness to children and teens that have been rescued from crime and drugs. Our Seniors did fund raisers for 4 years (bake sales, auctions, yard sales, etc.) to have enough funds to support going on this trip. They gave up countless hours learning songs, crafts, VBS materials, skits, dances, and bible lessons. They also had some excursions planned along the way. So shortly after they landed they made a stop and decided to visit the Alamo. Upon arriving back at the van they realized someone had broken in and robbed each one that had been in that vehicle. Can you imagine getting that phone call from your child the very first time away from home!? Some were left penniless and no longer had IDs! Wondering how can I even pay for food and how will I get back home with no ID.
So many of you have asked how you can help. These kids have expressed guilt on how they could've prevented this. Seriously, they were parked in an open lot, the car was locked, and they had so much luggage and VBS items that they had no place to hide their back-packs. Someone must have preyed on seeing a large group get out of a van knowing good and well that they wouldn't be coming back for a while. They boldly broke in to the van in broad day light!
Here is a list of items that our girls are missing.
Backpack
Macbook air purchased for college
Computers
Contacts
Eye glasses
Toiletries
Carryon luggage
Money & gift cards
Multiple Chargers
Wallets
Purses
Medications
Jewelry
Large swim bag
Shoes
Bibles
Towels
Multiple sets of glasses
Multiple loss of retainers
Camera bag
Multiple camera chargers
Make up bags and makeup
Clothes
Over the counter meds
Bluetooth speakers for VBS
Books and some of them are library books
Games
Journals
Id's
Insurance and personal information
VBS studies

Your help would be such a weight and burden lifted off of these girls. Some of these items need to be replaced while still on the trip. The monies will be distributed to everyone as needed. If there is anything left over we will give it to the camp mission program.

Please be in prayer for the remainder of their trip and their safe travel home!

The students wrapped up their VBS last night. It sounds like there was lots of tears from the children and from our UCA students. They loved every minute of their time together!! They held two youth rally's yesterday and 150 souls were saved. These older children have seen things in their lives most of us never will!! This group has been blessed and been a blessing this week!! Below is a news story ran in Texas about our group. Thanks so much for you support!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! The UCA Seniors had a great today! They have such an amazing testimony and I can't wait to share all the stories on how God has been working for them over the last few days. My goal is to be able to replace all the stolen items for the students and chaperone. My daughter, Anna was one of three that did not have any items stolen but I want to show her and the other students that our community appreciates their willingness to service. This is exactly what our country needs more of. All the money will go directly to replacing the items stolen and any funds we raise above this amount will be donated to the missions camp for at risk children. Currently they are hosting 130 children in VBS. Two chaperones and Ten students are working with these children who are at risk in so many ways. Continue to pray for them! Also keep an eye out on NBC 29 this week as they will be featuring their journey!
