CABS
CABS-Cardiff (Community Adult Basic Skills-Cardiff), is a charitable organisation raising funds to sponsor Learning Clubs for adults with a learning disability.

Adults with learning disabilities are supported to learn the basic skills needed to do what many of us think of as very ordinary social activities - writing a birthday card, reading a leaflet, buying a cup of tea.  These may seem small but they can be life changing skills if you feel included rather than excluded by disability.

We are asking everyone who cares about inclusion and equality of opportunity to donate. In particular, starting close to home, we are seeking support from the People and Businesses of our wonderful City, Cardiff.

To start our campaign we are sponsoring places at Learning Clubs that start in September 2018. These will be led by a qualified and experienced teacher.

£8 will sponsor one person for one class.

£50 will enable us to sponsor a Maths or English class for up to 6 people a week.

£1,750 would sponsor 35 sessions in the 2018-19 academic year.

£3,500 would sponsor both Maths and English classes for a year.

Will you help us make this simple dream a reality?

More funds means more hours, more classes, more lives touched.

Donating the equivalent of £1.00 per week for a year will sponsor one weekly session. That's the price of a weekly cup of tea. Perhaps you could ask for a donation to CABS instead of a buying a cappuccino or receiving a birthday gift?

If you run a business in Cardiff and would like to sponsor a session (or a block of sessions for a term or the year) we would be delighted. We’ll keep you updated with progress reports and share your support  with our followers here and on Facebook and Instagram.

One-off donations and ongoing support are both essential to the life of this programme which will literally change the lives of the people who participate.

Help us by making a donation, spreading the word, share our details, invite your friends, families and local businesses to support this grass-roots community adventure.

The more we can raise the more classes we can sponsor. The adults with learning disabilities that we support cannot advocate for themselves, they need your help and I thank you in anticipation on their behalf.
