Since the start of lockdown, The Jackson club has taken a massive financial hit. As a charity, largely reliant on customers to keep the place operating, the lockdown has been a blow financially. They could have closed temporarily during lockdown to reduce expenses, but this could have impacted the MENTAL HEALTH and WELL-BEING of soldiers who are feeling DISTRESSED at having to remain ‘COOPED UP’ during lockdown. At such a critical period in our history, it is imperative that they continue to serve our armed forces who faithfully serve us. A Virtual Cheesy Beans fundraise was conducted in March, which raised over £3500 of £5000 target.
We; SSgt Davidson (Steve), Fairbairn (Gaz) and Tikoisainai (Tiko) want to fundraise to help secure the future of The Jackson club. We want them to continue to provide a SAFE PLACE/NEUTRAL TERRITORY for all, irrespective of rank, to relax and unwind. We will be undertaking 100km in 12hrs Challenge between Dhekelia and RAF Akrotiri Station by end of this month. Gaz and myself are on Ex PINESTICK and Stevo is posted out here in Dhekelia. None of us have done a full marathon, let alone 100km and we are fully aware how PHYSICAL, MENTAL and SPIRITUAL demanding it will be. Our training started on 29 Mar 21, where it has been normal weekly PT prior.
ALL YOUR SUPPORT and GENEROSITY WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THE JACKO STAFF & US WILL BE VERY VERY GRATEFULL for EVERY DONATION, BIG AND SMALL.
