Save Myanmar Flood Disaster

Eleven of 14 States in Myanmar (Burma) suffer the worst flooding in Myanmar's history.

Due to continuous heavy rains since 16 July, flood destroyed farmland, roads, rail tracks, bridges and houses in Myanmar. Water from spillways of the dams as well as Cyclone Komen has worsened the flood. More than 310,000 acres, including 24,000 acres of cultivated land, have been flooded across the country. The situation has exacerbated – up to 250,000 people had been displaced or had their livelihoods affected. More torrential rain is expected in the coming days.

Continuous rain and flood has cut the affected people the access to basic necessities including clean water, food and clothes. The displaced people and animals are now sheltering at many temporary camps and monasteries.  More news: http://goo.gl/loqj7f
