This is Esmée. She is 2 and a half years old and my sons best friend. She has recently been diagnosed with Cancer. Such a hard topic to talk about let alone live with. Little bit about this beaut... Esmée was born prematurely.... she was so tiny! She could fit in dolls clothes like they were made for her. She fought to gain weight and to get home to her family, she had 2 sisters and a brother waiting eagerly to teach her bad habits. Esmée smashed through her milestones and became the wonderful chatty loving little girly that my son cannot get enough of! A little brother soon followed and they are all inseparable. Last month she she went to the doctors because she went off her food, they said she was constipated (obvious diagnosis as her tummy was swollen) Well the medicine didn't help shift anything and she started to get poorly. Gone was the shiny bubbly rebel... Esmée ended up in hospital and they did an ultrasound...... they found a mass attached to her kidney. After lots of blood tests and an MRI it was official, she has Cancer. She is currently at John Radcliffe hospital getting the best treatment she can. And it's still early days, she will have chemo and will lose her kidney eventually but she will get through this cause she is a stubborn little mare! The reason I set up this page is because I can see the strain its put on the family. Her Mum Megan has had to give up work for now so she can stay with her and her Dad Nick is doing the best he can with 4 children at home. Running backwards and forwards to Oxford at least twice week is costly, plus childcare for the older ones. Esmée is going to need round the clock care as well as adjustments to make her life easier. I'm doing this to help even just a little bit, just to make their life easier. I haven't been asked nor have they said they want to. They are an amazing family who are just a little bit broken right now. I love them to bits and am grateful if anyone can donate anything.
