Money has ran out, and after multiple flight reschedulings, cancellations and false hopes, the government of Nepal has just announced that all international flights will be now be banned until at least the first of September, and probably beyond, due to rising Covid-19 cases in Kathmandu.
Special chartered rescue flights are operating irregularly to get stranded tourists back home, but at a cost of around $1300!
I’m no stranger to spending a long time away from home, but after 5 months of lockdown and isolation my mental health has taken a battering and I’m now desperate to return to my family and friends - so desperate that I’m asking you for help.
There is a flight, operated by Turkish Airlines, on the 18th of August from Kathmandu to London via Istanbul.
It costs $1250, about £1000. I am trying to raise money for a ticket so I can see all your beautiful faces again and give my mum a hug.
