One of the boys had been sent out there to clean his football shoes. The whole flat and its contents were totally destroyed, but luckily the family escaped unhurt. They are now in temporary accommodation, trying to re-build their lives.
They have lost EVERYTHING - school books & laptops, clothing, furniture, bedding, family photographhs, documents, pots & pans, fridge, cooker & TV, the lot...
They escaped with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. The mum is a care worker and not entitled to sick pay, although she is till expected to pay the rent. They are all suffering from shock and desperately need help and support.
Your donatioins will help them replace the lost property - everyday things like clothes and toiletries, as well as the furniture and equipment they will need when they are rre-housed.
They have no access to laundry or cooking facilities, so they are depending on takeaways, which Mum says are not the healthy food they are used to.
Any help you can offer, even £1, will go towards their urgent needs as well as to prepare them to rebuild a family home. But most impartant, they also need to know that they have the support of the community they have lived in for many years, that the rest of us condemn the heinous crime that has been committed, that we will all bear in mind the risk of children playing with fireworks and intervene when we see dangerous behaviour in the street.
