My mum, a single parent had lived and worked in Barry her entire life (most notably 35+ years as a cleaning supervisor at a local primary school). She was due to retire Christmas 2020 but in a cruel twist of fate she was struck by illness. Therefore, she never got to enjoy her retirement. Covid played a significant role in the delay of her diagnosis and treatment.
I have two children 18 and 20 and I am single with little family support. I am unable to work due to severe anxiety, social anxiety and depression, and have no transport either.
I have lived at home all my life in council accommodation, which I found out yesterday due to my mum taking over the tenancy from my nan many moons ago, I now cannot take it over myself by law.
The council now have 4 weeks to find us temporary accommodation whilst we wait for a permanent home. As you can imagine I'm going through so much heartache, stress and worry right now with trying to arrange the funeral and now this.
I have little money for rent and bills let alone the two moves and everything else that I now need to pay for. Things are pretty bad right now. We as a family are grieving for our mum /nan and now we have to lose our lovely home.
My mum was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She was selfless and so caring and would do anything for anyone. She would go without to make sure everyone else was ok. We were inseparable. She was my mum, my rock and my world and we all miss her so much. We as a family are completely heartbroken but somehow we must begin to rebuild our lives again.
To start the fund is not a decision I've taken lightly but sadly I feel its my only choice. Please help us if you can as every little helps! xxx
