Help stop HS2'S illegal slaughter of wildlife

***FUNDRAISER UPDATE***

Thank you SO much to everyone who helped us reach our target. We didn't expect to get there so quickly!

I'm keeping the fundraiser open to more donations as this means we can get even more and better equipment.

Every penny donated will be well spent in the fight against HS2!

Thanks everyone for your incredible generosity xxx

*************
HS2 will steadfastly deny the presence of protected wildlife in areas they want to work; in most cases, they have either not undertaken their own ecological surveys, or have obscured the evidence – for example, using strong lighting at night to scare any bats away.

We are aware that HS2 will illegally fell trees, remove hedgerows and otherwise destroy the habitats of protected species.

On one small part of HS2's planned route - Jones Hill Wood - activists have had huge success in delaying HS2's illegal work through effectively recording and reporting the presence of protected wildlife. Better yet, significant parts of woodland have been saved from total devastation, thanks to the hard work of these activists.

We are now planning to expand this tactic further by studying sites along the entire line and recording evidence of protected wildlife. We believe we can help save these animals and protect and preserve these biodiversity-rich woodlands, as well as effectively slow and disrupt HS2!

In order to do this effectively, we will need to purchase some specialist equipment – this includes:

- A portable wildlife hide

- A good camera with a long lens

- A mobile phone tripod

- A bat detector

- Waterproofs

- Binoculars

- 1:25000 maps

- Online OS maps

- A laser measure

- A wildlife camera

As well as financial donations, if anyone has any of the items of the kit as mentioned above they would be able to loan or donate to us, this would be hugely appreciated!

Because ecological surveying has proven to be THE MOST EFFECTIVE tactic we have so far utilised against HS2, we are committed to doing this work – please can you help us to expand on the work we've done so far, so together we can help stop HS2 in its tracks before any more damage is done and precious species and woodlands lost?
