Relief effort for flood hit schools in Horwich

On Sunday the 16th May a "once in a century" flood event caused chaos and heartbreak for many residents in the Town of Horwich,

Many residents will spend years recovering from this disaster, However this flood has also been particularly difficult for our children, Having spent the best part of a year home schooling and away from friends they had the news that 3 schools (St. Mary's , Chorley New Road and St. Joseph's) had to close do to flood damage.

Whilst of course insurance will cover the building and critical elements some items such as children's work and items for the students will not be.

HBFI is always first and foremost a community led group who have been students of these schools and indeed some of our children go to them, Like us we know the good people of Horwich, Blackrod and surrounding community want to ensure the devastating effects on our schools is mitigated by raising funds through this site to be distributed to the schools to lessen the effects on the students and the army of dedicated teachers.

We have been given consent by the schools to do this on their behalf

Lets do our part in helping them with this fundraiser.
