Running against the clock

Hey! Thank you so much for visiting!

Some may know me and I hope I’m also reaching a lot that don’t too, but I am Lydia and I have been known to do the odd workout here and there as well as build a business around health and wellbeing.

I care about lots of things, family & friends but I also care about life in general and making the most of every minute and helping if and wherever I can, as I’m sure you do too, or you wouldn’t be here ❤️

I may also be known for a little impulsive ( I blame my ADD ) so…

I AM GOING TO ATTEMPT TO RUN FOR 40 hours continually!! Yes, you did read that correctly.

I know, I know, why would anyone sane person even think about this? I can give you 2 very good reasons; Please read on.

I am doing this to raise as much money as possible for 2 charities that are dear to my heart.  One on a very personal level and the other on a moral level as a mother of 2 and a human being.

1:           Earlier this year my friend Esther’s partner Stu woke up and wasn’t able to talk properly, was very confused and it was clear that something was very wrong.  Fast forward a few hours, Stu is in hospital having tests and scans to then be diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma.

Treatments began as soon as possible with massive doses of chemo and radiotherapy but sadly the NHS have now said that the tumour is inoperable.

As you can imagine, their world has been turned upside down and plans of a big wedding in the summer, children soon after and growing old together then all seemed to evaporate like smoke in the wind.

HOWEVER, Stu & Esther are not ones to give up that easily!  They decided to get married immediately, so did this with just their closest family (that COVID allowed), even their wedding night was spent separated so Stu could have another treatment!  They are now starting the process of fertility treatment so they can achieve their goal of children too.

Alongside all of this, Esther & Stu’s family and friends have been researching any treatment options available.  This is where I (and YOU) come in.

They have found a very specialist treatment, specifically for this type of cancer.  It is in Germany, not covered by the NHS or health insurance and costs upwards of £80,000!  I need your support to get my dear friends the help they so desperately need.

2:           War Child is a charity that everyone should know about, yet sadly too many do not.  It is a fund that helps children that are caught up in conflict and are at risk of abduction, physical, psychological and sexual abuse plus, at the very least, having their childhood ripped away from them.

As a mother, this pulls at my heart so was an obvious choice for a charity to support and another reason to do this crazy challenge!

There is no doubt about it, this is the hardest thing I have ever attempted and I am scared and dubious as to whether I can train hard enough to get me to the start line let alone finish.

I have asked a good friend of mine Ross Sterling to put me in touch with some amazing coaches who I will be working with.
 - Justin Reid - Sims who has run multiple ultra marathons and Anthony Fletcher who’s knowledge is unfounded,   they are going to help get me there and we agreed that if we are doing this, let do it properly!

These 2 reasons will help to give me the motivation I am going need, but of course I NEED YOUR HELP to know what I am doing will raise money to make a difference to my friends lives directly and for the charity that needs all the help it can get.

PLEASE, donate whatever you can, no matter how small and help me to help change lives.

Please, if you’re want to share this everywhere and become part of this by getting the awareness and the donations as high as possible.

 Thank you so much ❤️
