إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
It is with a very heavy heart that I share the loss of my beloved mother on Sunday 10/01/2021 at 7.35am, due to Covid.
I was called by doctors at 1am to say my final goodbyes as my mother was on the edge of death. A call I will never forget.
I stood by her side as I held the hands that fed, bathed and clothed me. The same hands that taught, disciplined and loved me. I held those hands helplessly as she battled for every little breathe with her oxygen levels dropping, whilst we pleaded on every little hope on our Lord for a miracle. Until, the nurses chased me out of the ward.
Cruel, it felt... Then at 7.45am I received a call that my mum lost her battle to Covid at 7.35am at the age of 45. The moment that changed my world, my heart gorging out of my mouth, tears running down my cheeks and in a state of utter shock.
My mum was the dearest, closest and most important person in my life. She leaves me, my brother and 4 younger sisters below the age of 13.
She was the type of person who loved everyone and everyone loved her.
The eyes are still shedding tears and the hearts are still grieved and pounding, and yet, we will not say anything except what pleases our Lord. إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
There is nothing we could have done to stop this separation. Indeed Allah does what He wills, فعال لما يريد. He does what He wills.
All we can do its to make dua for her, and continue to fulfil her rights upon me, even after her death.
I have set up a GoFundMe page on my bio to raise funds to help complete unfinished Masjid, build water wells and feed orphans, in hope that it will elevate her rank in the final abode.
May Allah have Rahma on my mother soul, forgive her shortcomings, expand and illuminate her grave, give her angels to accompany her so she doesn’t feel lonely, allow every act of goodness I do that was inspired by her to be her sadaqa jariya, grant her the status of a shaheed (martyr), and grant her the loftiest station in paradise without punishment or trial. Ameen.
