A small ask. We hope you've had a moment to visit our new website The Listening Festival and have enjoyed watching and listening to some of the virtual events that we have put together in a very short space of time.
We do not receive public funding and do not have University backing, we rely in the main on ticket sales. And we have been hit hard by the cancellation of our Spring Festival.
Whatever you can spare will make a big difference. We understand that not everyone can afford to make a donation, if you are unable to donate then please share this plea with your friends, it would be hugely appreciated.
For the past 17 years, CLF has brought hundreds of book lovers and writers together. It's what we love to do, and we would really like to continue doing it.
Our team are adapting day by day and are very proud of how we have pulled together to create our digital events, with massive thanks to all contributors, authors, chairs, podcast producers, digital UX experts who have all given their time for free, and of course our audience who have been donating the cost of their tickets back to the festival.
We can't rely on this generosity for the forseeable future and so need to secure some additional emergency funding which will allow us to carve a sustainable future for our Winter Festival 2020 and Spring Festival 2021.
Each year, Cambridge Literary Festival generates thousands of pounds for the local economy, with independent retailers and local cafes all benefiting from the influx of book lovers.
We cannot do this without you.
We are so grateful for our CLF community, and can't wait to welcome you back to the stage once this pandemic is over.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
