£17,594 of £30,000 goal

Raised by 517 people in 1 month
Llandysul paddlers has been hit by servere flooding which has caused extensive damage to the club house, office, bunkhouse, shop and new building under construction. Not only this but trailers, sheds, racks, boats and other essential kit have been swept down river! as the water levels continue to rise the full extent of the damage is yet to be known but this vital community organisation will now need funds to get back in its feet as soon as possible.

llandysul paddlers has given so much to its local community and the wider slalom community it would be amazing if we could all give a little to help this amazing organisation to recover from this devastating disaster!

Gareth will be directly withdrawing the funds as he is the beneficiary

Thank you

Day 4 was another amazing day for us at the centre we managed to get the boat shed back together with the help of vobe, chunk, dave and Wyn along with all the others, the order for the new wood supports went to melingoed at 10 and was delivered by 11 amazing! We went to get paint from e h factors in penrhiwllan and had an amazing donation, we also had a donation of another John deer ride on mower from a local resident as ours was lost in the floods. The big shed floors are getting painted, new doors put on and everything just looks amazing, we had a huge team of volunteers again today and the numbers boosted when school finished so thanks to you all, also to the team from trinity st Davids university in Carmarthen, David from Bridgend canoe club and Andrew from ours. Again the generosity from the village has been overwhelming ck's sent us a food delivery about the same time as the soup delivery from the Jardines and so many lovely cakes, we have set up a kitchen area just inside the main club house for all the workers and volunteers and it is becoming a bit of a meeting place to get our game plan sorted. The lovely Kerr family came and helped with everything it was so nice to catch up after so many years, I have missed so many people of this list sorry! Just a big group hug to you all. Thanks also to hazel for picking up the donation from the police station in Carmarthen the new racking will be very handy. Boats are still being delivered one by a farmer on the back of a tractor, one by the angler on the last day of fishing season, and one picked up by a fishing boat in Milford haven! Lots found by our river team again, both banks are now clear of debris thanks CW Tommy for the help again and clive from Taunton canoe club what will we do tomorrow without you. Dave Newport legend, ladies, so many ladies on site just doing everything to help. Jeff put the second coat of paint on at 4am to give it time to dry and has had about 5 hours sleep this week (legend). Not much time for photos so just a few from the shed area. Sport
Wales have been in touch offering support along with so many other amazing people. Thanks again hopefully day 5 will be just as productive. Much love Gareth and the team at llandysul paddlers. Also happy birthday Alix what a way to spend your birthday xxx

Another update from the team at Llandysul paddlers. Its day 3 of the recovery process and today was another top day and we managed to get a team of 6 paddlers on the river and recovered about 20 boats we are not sure of the exact number as we were not sure which ends went with which boats ! some boats though made it unscathed and we were all super happy when all 3 of our C2 boats came back intact and looking in almost the same condition remarkable really after a few miles heading through trees and rapids by themselves, this could be a sign to the I love C2group. The canoes and some of the kayaks are fully destroyed but would be handy for people running WWSR courses or something similar so if you want canoes or kayaks to practice your pin removal just let us know and we will put them to one side for you. Jonathan from Canoe Wales was joined by Tommy and Andy and we had ITV wales BBC and a few more TV crews looking at the site and other properties that have been affected. We also had a visit from the police, environment minister from the welsh assembly, CCW, Welsh water and BT. The bins have been emptied about 8 times so thanks again to that team I think they have done about a months work in a couple of days looking after all those affected. Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion county council had people on site and lots of anglers looking out for our boats whilst out on the river. It was also great to see community councillor for Llandyfriog Wyn Thomas who is always so supportive and positive. The office has been painted, the fallen trees cut up (Thanks Matt) and pulled from the river, Farmyard nurseries have taken our large tents to clean and dry, We had a delivery of about 25 bacon butties, cakes, teas and much more to keep the team motivated the car park cleaned by a nice man in a sweeper truck, all rooms bleached and kit starting to get back to the proper stores. 30 volunteers again today and Clive representing Taunton Canoe Club and a team from Aber Kayakers, Haverfordwest and Carmarthen canoe clubs was non stop all day. Thanks again we are all feeling the love, tomorrow we clean the good boats, fix the boat shed, replace some doors and start getting the lake area sorted (if any carpenter people are free come on down). Thanks so much to everyone that have donated we very much appreciate it also thanks for helping us to get to £14,000 its truley overwhelming! Thanks again for everything you have all done. Many thanks from Gareth and all at Llandysul Paddlers. xx
